President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin held an hour-long phone call to discuss the ongoing war in Iran and other pressing international matters.
Kremlin adviser Yuri Ushakov described the exchange as “frank and businesslike,” noting that the leaders engaged in a specific and useful dialogue regarding global instability.
During the conversation, President Putin proposed several ideas for a diplomatic settlement to the conflict, following his recent discussions with leaders in Iran and the Gulf.
President Trump provided his own assessment of the situation in the context of current US-Israeli operations.
The two leaders also discussed the situation in Venezuela and its ongoing impact on the global oil market.
