MOSCOW – Russia is a country offering vast opportunities, and those who in the current situation have decided to leave it, to curtail their businesses here, will eventually regret it, TASS cited Russian President Vladimir Putin as saying at a meeting with young entrepreneurs.

“In today’s conditions some have preferred to jump off, to pull out, to curtail some activity here. Eventually they will regret it. This is not a threat. They will regret it not because we threaten someone. We do not threaten anybody. They will regret it, because Russia is a country of vast opportunities,” Putin said.

He stressed that many foreign companies were already feeling very upset they had to leave Russia. But this, he remarked, is a manifestation of “the internal conditions in these countries, which cannot make sovereign decisions.”

“We are a sovereign country. We must be looking into the future. And we are looking into the future. But this future can be created only by people like you. The country counts on you,” he concluded, wishing all participants in the meeting continued success.
