SEOUL, – South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yul met with his Swiss counterpart, Ignazio Cassis to discuss the security situation on the Korean Peninsula and the Ukrainian war, Yonhap News Agency quoted his office as saying Wednesday.
In Tuesday’s talks in Seoul, they agreed to cooperate closely for the peace and security of the international community as two countries currently serving on the UN Security Council as nonpermanent members.
Cho also highly evaluated Switzerland’s leadership as the chair of the UN Security Council Sanctions Committee on North Korea and voiced hope for stronger cooperation on the North’s nuclear and human rights issues.
The two ministers then agreed to stand in solidarity with the international community’s efforts to end the war in Ukraine and achieve peace.
They also agreed to step up cooperation in the areas of trade, bio and advanced technology, according to the ministry.
