MOGADISHU – Somali President Hassan Sh. Mohamud said that the government was committed to pursue the fight against Al-Shabaab until the group militants are cleared out throughout the country.
Speaking at the event in Dhusamareb town together with regional leaders and Government officials after the conclusion of the National Consultative Council, President Mohamud stressed that Al-Shabaab’s reign came to an end, saying the ongoing offensive war aimed at completing remnants of Al-Shabaab in the few areas under their control.
The President repeated his call to the group fighters and their masters by offering amnesty and to join their people and return to their homes where they can get good life, peace, education, health and other useful services.
“Al-Shabaab is like a broom that ends, the people are like the land, they never end”, President Hassan said.
President Hassan was stationed in Dhusamareb town in the past three weeks, in order, to scale up the offensive operation against Al-Shabaab. The Army together with local forces gained military progress during his stay there according to the officials.
