BEIJING – Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, currently visiting China, had talks on Wednesday with Zhao Leji, the Chairman of the Chinese National People’s Congress Standing Committee.
The talks tackled means of enhancing bilateral co-operation at the political and economic levels, thus contributing to further exchange of development expertise, Presidential Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy said.
The two sides lauded the distinguished parliamentary ties between the two countries in light of the formation of the joint parliamentary friendship group.
The meeting highlighted the progress in bilateral ties, especially as the two countries engaged in major projects.
The two sides extolled the efforts exerted by Chinese companies in supporting national projects in Egypt, especially in the fields of technology, communications, infrastructure and energy.
For his part, Zhao underlined his country’s embrace of the historic ties with Egypt, stressing keenness on bolstering bilateral co-operation.
He lauded Egypt’s pivotal role at the regional and international levels, especially to realize peace and stability in the Middle East while moving on to realize national development.
