Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League (AL) Hossam Zaki affirmed Monday the importance of Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit for being the culmination of unwavering Egyptian efforts to support the Palestinian cause.
In an exclusive interview with Al-Qahera News Channel, on the sidelines of the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit, the pan-Arab body’s official said: “Sharm El-Sheikh summit is an important step toward ending the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, following two years of the extermination war launched by Israel on the Gaza Strip.”
Zaki further voiced hope for the accurate implementation of the plan proposed by US President Donald Trump regarding the cessation of the Gaza war.
The AL assistant secretary-general extended his greetings to Egypt’s leadership and people for their success to overcome all challenges they faced during the past period, especially as regards the delivery of aid to the Gaza Strip and attempts of forcibly displacing the Palestinian people from their land.
Zaki pointed out that Egypt’s strong stands have had a great impact on changing the course of political dialogue related to the Gaza war.
Meantime, he voiced appreciation of the roles played by Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Turkey in backing the Palestinian cause, as well as the stance of the US, the initiator of the Gaza peace plan.
