CAIRO – Senegal is keen on benefiting from Egypt’s expertise in the sectors of infrastructure and railways, said Senegalese Minister of Infrastructure, Land and Air Transport Malick Ndiaye. Senegal is also keen on promoting cooperation with Egypt in civil aviation sphere and discussing partnership between EgyptAir and Air Senegal, he added during a meeting held with Egypt’s Ambassador in Dakar Khaled Aref. During the meeting, the Egyptian ambassador handed over the minister an invitation to attend the proceedings of the 12th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF12), which will be held in Cairo on November 4 and will run until November 8. The Senegalese minister, meanwhile, voiced keenness on attending the forum and visiting new cities in order to get acquainted with the technology of infrastructure development and the railway industry in Egypt. He further appreciated the role of Al Azhar, the Awqaf Ministry, and the Egyptian universities in qualifying and educating the Senegalese people.In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates said that the Egyptian ambassador lauded the close ties binding Egypt and Senegal. Egypt is keen on supporting Senegal in its efforts in attaining development, the statement quoted the ambassador as saying.
