AMMAN/BAGHDAD – Jordanian Lower House Speaker Ahmad Safadi underlined the importance of joint Arab action to support security and stability in Iraq.
He highlighted that Egypt, Iraq and Jordan are keen on working together in this respect.
He made the remarks on Saturday during meetings of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union.
He said Jordanian King Abdullah II had talks several months ago with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Sudani on projects and initiatives of the Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership with an aim to realize economic integration.
Meanwhile, he reiterated his country’s support for Egypt and Sudan vis-a-vis the Ethiopian dam issue.
He also stressed support for the stability and unity of Yemen and Libya.
Safadi also underlined the importance of a unified Arab parliamentary stand in rejection of all Israeli practices against the Palestinians and sacred places in the occupied territories.
