A Soyuz-2.1a rocket has taken off from the Vostochny Cosmodrome and put the Kondor-FKA1 remote sensing satellite into orbit, Interfax quoted Russia’s Roscosmos as saying in a statement.
“The satellite has successfully separated from the launch vehicle,” Roscosmos said.
Soyuz-2.1a took off from Vostochny at 12:14 a.m. Moscow time and brought a Fregat upper stage and the Kondor-FKA satellite to orbit.
There will be two Kondor-FKA satellites in the cluster, with the second one to be launched in 2024.
Kondor-FKA satellites, developed by NPO Mashinostroyenia, will provide round-the-clock all-weather remote sensing images in the medium and high resolutions.
