Rafah border crossing remains open for the seventh day in a row, awaiting the arrival of injured and sick Palestinians and their companions from the Gaza Strip to receive treatment and medical care in its hospitals, a well-placed source said on Monday.
Israeli authorities have closed the Palestinian side of the crossing and prevented the transit of the injured and sick Palestinians to Egypt, the source added.
It further noted that medical teams are on constant alert and ambulances are lined up awaiting the supposedly scheduled arrival of the new batch of the injured and sick Palestinians and their companions.
Up to 1,700 injured Palestinians along with 2,500 companions have entered Egyptian territory.
