BEIRUT– Egyptian Social Solidarity Minister Nevine el Qabbag reiterated Egypt’s full support to the Lebanese people, based on the instructions of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.

El Qabbag’s comments came after her meeting with Lebanon’s President Michel Aoun among a delegation of the Executive Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs, currently in Beirut to get familiar with the conditions in Lebanon and probe offering assistance.

The minister reiterated Egypt’s full readiness to support the Lebanese NGOs and civil society in cooperation with the Executive Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs.

Sisi continuously directs the Egyptian government to spare no effort to help the Lebanese people overcome their crisis, she stressed.

Lebanon needs support and help, especially amid any domestic or global crises, el Qabbag said, adding the meeting aimed at making plans to protect the vulnerable people through social protection and economic empowerment programmes.

Lebanon enjoys many resources and potentials to be invested in for the people’s benefit, the minister asserted, voicing her confidence in Arab country’s ability to return stronger than ever.
