GAZA CITY – The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) says it is impossible to evacuate the Al Quds Hospital despite Israeli threats to bomb the medical facility at any moment.
It is impossible to evacuate for the time being, with 12,000 displaced Palestinians and 400 patients inside, said director of operations at the PRCS Abdel Aziz Abu Aisha in statements to Al Arabiya Al Hadath news channel Monday.
There are no safe places in Gaza to move the patients, displaced people and medical staff of Al Quds Hospital to, Abu Aisha said.
He slammed Israel’s repeated warnings for the hospital to evacuate in order to bomb it, noting that this facility is considered the safe shelter for unarmed civilians now.
All hospitals in Gaza keep receiving threats from the Israeli army, as well as orders to evacuate immediately, Abu Aisha said, adding this has been the case since the beginning of the war.
The statements were made as Israeli warplanes bombarded areas near three hospitals, including Al Quds, in the Gaza Strip early on Monday.
