RAMALLAH– Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh on Tuesday condemned the “assassination” of Hamas deputy leader Saleh al-Aruri in a Beirut suburb, in an Israeli attack, according to a statement issued by his office.
Shtayyeh called the killing of Aruri a “crime perpetrated by known criminals” and warned about the “risks and consequences that could follow,” the note added.
Two security officials in Lebanon said Aruri was killed in an Israeli drone strike that killed a total of six people in a southern Beirut stronghold of Hamas ally Hezbollah.
