Palestine has called for an emergency Arab League meeting at the level of permanent representatives on Tuesday to discuss political and legal steps against the unprecedented Israeli aggression in the Palestinian territories.
Palestine’s envoy to the Arab League Muhannad Aklouk cited dire humanitarian conditions in Gaza, accusing Israel of using starvation as a tool of collective punishment. He said nearly 1,000 Palestinians had been killed while awaiting food aid and described such aid operations as a “false humanitarian cover” for attacks.
Aklouk also condemned Israeli plans to strip Hebron’s municipality of authority over the Ibrahimi Mosque in favor of a settler religious council, calling it a breach of international law and UN resolutions. He further denounced an Israeli strike on Gaza’s only Catholic church, which was sheltering civilians.
