The National Day of Pakistan was celebrated at the Embassy of Pakistan, Cairo with traditional fervor and enthusiasm. The ceremony commenced with the hoisting of the national flag by Ambassador Sajid Bilal.
After the recitation of the Holy Qur’an, the messages of the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan on the occasion of the National Day were readout.
In his brief remarks, the Ambassador informed the audience about the successful holding of the 48th Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organisation of Islamic Co-operation, being held in Islamabad, attended by Foreign Ministers and Senior Officials of 57 Islamic countries. He also informed the audience about a number of Government’s initiatives for the welfare of overseas Pakistanis. The Ambassador emphasised on unity among Pakistanis to overcome the challenges and continue the forward march on the path of development.
The children of Pakistan International School Cairo (PISC) presented a performance of national songs on the occasion.
In the end, prayer was offered for the well-being of Pakistanis and for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan.
The Egyptian Government has nominated the Chamberlain of the Office of the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt to call on the Ambassador to convey the National Day felicitations of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi to President Dr. ArifAlvi.
The event was attended by a large number of Pakistanis in Egypt. This was for the first time in the last two years of corona pandemic that the expatriate community was invited to attend the ceremony.
