ADEN- Yemen’s southern forces launched a military operation in Abyan province to cleanse it of terrorist organizations, a Yemeni military source said on Sunday.
The operation was launched on two fronts, the coastal line and central areas, he said.
He added that the forces are determined to storm Mount Mogan to track down Qaeda operatives.
Yemen has been split by a seven-year-old war pitting a coalition led by Saudi Arabia against the Iran-aligned Houthi group. The Houthis largely hold the north and the internationally recognised government is based in the south.
