KUWAIT CITY – The Kuwaiti Cabinet on Monday tendered a letter of resignation to Crown Prince Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

The resignation came due to the deadlock reached on various issues with the legislative authority during the first session of the 17th legislative term of the National Assembly, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Barrak Al-Shaitan in a statement post-cabinet session.

The minister expressed confidence in the wisdom of Sheikh Mishal in taking the necessary action in line with the highest interest of the country, according to the official KUNA news agency.

Meanwhile, the Cabinet commended a decision by Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Nawaf AlAhmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, issuing decree 8/2023 on January 17 of pardoning several individuals receiving freedom-restricting penalties in a court ruling.
