NAIROBI (MENA) – Kenyan President William Samoei Ruto called Tuesday for strengthening Africa-France cooperation on the basis of mutual respect, sovereignty and shared interests.
Speaking at the Africa-France Summit in Nairobi, attended by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and French President Emmanuel Macron, Ruto stressed the need for joint strategies to address global economic and supply chain challenges.
He said Africa has the resources and young population needed to become a stronger economic partner, calling for deeper cooperation in infrastructure, energy, technology and youth empowerment.
Ruto also urged reforms to the global financial system, saying African countries continue to face unfair financing conditions and mounting debt burdens.
Africa must finance Africa, Ruto said, highlighting the continent’s untapped financial potential and the need for more balanced international partnerships.
