RAMALLAH – Israeli occupation forces on Friday closed the main entrances to the villages of Sinjil and Nabi Saleh, north of Ramallah, disrupting the movement of Palestinian residents.
Local sources reported that the entrance to Nabi Saleh has remained sealed with an iron gate since Thursday evening, forcing residents to take lengthy and indirect routes.
The closure affects access to several nearby areas, including the villages of Beit Rima, Deir Ghassaneh, Kafr Ein, Qarawa, as well as the city of Salfit and its surrounding villages.
Earlier on Friday, Israeli forces also shut the iron gate at the entrance of Sinjil village, further restricting Palestinian mobility in the area.
According to a September report by the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, the number of Israeli military checkpoints and metal gates across the West Bank has reached 910, including 83 installed since the beginning of 2025. Notably, 247 gates were set up following the events of October 7, 2023.
