RAMALLAH – An Israeli army naval force on Monday arrested seven Palestinian fishermen off the northern coast of the Gaza Strip and confiscated their fishing boat, according to a fisherman.
The seven fishermen were taken to the Israeli seaport of Ashdod, he told Palestinian news agency (WAFA).
On a daily basis, fishermen in Gaza are often chased and arrested by the Israeli maritime police, and they are forced to fish on limited dates and time.
Such measures have prevented them from fishing freely and providing for their families.
