RAMALLAH – Israeli settlers stormed the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque on Monday under the protection of the Israeli occupation forces on the seventh day of the Jewish Passover holiday.
The Islamic Waqf Department in Jerusalem stated in a press release that more than 200 settlers stormed Al-Aqsa from the direction of Al Maghreba gate, conducted provocative tours, and performed Talmudic rituals in its courtyards.
The occupation police intensified their military measures at the entrances to the Old City and Al-Aqsa Mosque, imposing restrictions on the entry of Palestinian worshipers.
Alleged Temple organizations had called for wide-scale incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque during the Passover holiday to offer “sacrifices.”
The Israeli occupation forces exploit Jewish holidays and occasions to tighten restrictions and impose collective punishment on Palestinian citizens by closing checkpoints, tightening military measures, obstructing their movement, and preventing them from accessing holy sites. Meanwhile, the Israeli occupants facilitate settler incursions into Palestinian cities, Islamic and archaeological sites in the West Bank, especially the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron and Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.
Approximately 1,210 settlers stormed Al-Aqsa yesterday (Sunday) on the sixth day of the Jewish Passover holiday, while last Thursday witnessed the incursion of 1,600 settlers, marking the largest number of incursions into the holy site since October 7th of last year.
