RAMALLAH – Israel said its troops are conducting “localised” raids near the border with Lebanon, in a significant escalation of its conflict with Hezbollah, Politico reported Tuesday.
The army is conducting “localised and targeted ground raids based on precise intelligence against Hezbollah terrorist targets and infrastructure” in villages close to the Israel-Lebanon border, it said in a post on X platform.
The ground operation is aimed at targets “located in villages close to the border … in northern Israel”, the army added.
The plan — which will be supported by air strikes and artillery — has been in preparation for months, the army said, noting that it will continue to operate “to achieve the goals of the war”.
