RAMALLAH – Israeli forces clamped full closure on all West Bank governorates on Sunday blocking the travel movement of Palestinians.
WAFA news agency quoted Palestinian security sources as saying that Israeli occupation forces have blocked the entrances to several villages in the Ramallah governorate of the occupied West Bank, severely disrupting the movement of Palestinian residents in and out their villages.
Israeli occupation forces shut down the military checkpoint at the northern entrance of Al-Bireh city in both directions, blocking the movement of Palestinian civilians for essential services into and out of the city, the sources said.
In addition, Israeli occupation forces placed earth mounds to block the access to Kharbatha Bani Harith village, located to the west of Ramallah. They also set up a military checkpoint at the western entrance of Al-Mughayyir village, east of Ramallah, and sealed off the eastern entrance of the village with earth mounds.
Meantime, the forces blocked the entrance to Umm Safa village, located north of Ramallah, with earth mounds and locked the iron gate at the entrance of the neighboring Atara village, impeding the movement of local residents.
These closures have a significant impact on the daily lives of Palestinian residents, limiting their mobility and access to essential services. These Israeli measures are part of a broader strategy of restricting Palestinian movement in the West Bank, a practice that has been widely condemned by human rights organizations.
