RAMALLAH – A ceasefire aimed at ending the war between Israel and Hezbollah officially came into effect early on Wednesday morning, i24News Israeli channel said.
On Tuesday, the Israeli cabinet approved the US-brokered ceasefire deal with Lebanon.
This came after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced the decision in a televised statement.
Netanyahu said Israel has pushed the group “decades back”.
“I will present the ceasefire outline with Hezbollah to the full cabinet for approval,” Netanyahu added.
In closing, Netanyahu said “An agreement can be enforced and we will enforce it.”
