TEHRAN – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has emphasized that Tehran enters negotiations in good faith, but will stand firm on its rights, IRNA news agency reported.

In a post on his X account on Friday, Araghchi said “Iran enters diplomacy with open eyes and a steady memory of the past year.”

“We engage in good faith and stand firm on our rights,” he added.

The top Iranian diplomat stressed, “Commitments need to be honored. Equal standing, mutual respect, and mutual interest are not rhetoric—they are a must and the pillars of a durable agreement.”

Araghchi arrived at Muscat Airport early this morning and was welcomed by Omani officials.

He is accompanied on this trip by Majid Takht-Ravanchi, Deputy for Political Affairs; Esmaeil Baqaei, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson; Hamid Ghanbari, Deputy for Economic Affairs; and several other Iranian diplomats.

As announced by the Iranian Foreign Minister, the new round of nuclear negotiations between Iran and the United States will take place this morning in Muscat.

According to the US officials, Steve Witkoff, the US President’s Special Envoy for the Middle East, and Jared Kushner, Donald Trump’s son-in-law and assistant, will represent the United States in the talks with Iran.
