The International Defence Conference (IDC) 2025 will take place on 16 February, under the theme “Defence Reimagined: Innovation, Integration, and Resilience.” The event will be held in conjunction with the International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX) and the Naval Defence & Maritime Security Exhibition (NAVDEX), both taking place under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.
Organized by the ADNEC Group in strategic partnership with the Ministry of Defense and in collaboration with the Tawazun Council, IDC serves as a premier platform for global leaders, decision-makers, and experts in the defence sector. It aims to foster international collaboration, addressing global security challenges while highlighting cutting-edge solutions for future defense needs.
The conference will feature three pivotal sessions: Global Disruptions and Defence Preparedness: Mitigating Threats to Critical Supply Chains, Disinformation and Influence Operations: The Weaponization of Information in Modern Conflicts, and Space: The New Arena for Defense and Security.
The first session will open with an address on the necessity of international cooperation in the face of global disruptions, such as geopolitical tensions, cyberattacks, and pandemics. It will explore strategies to enhance supply chain resilience, with a focus on the role of innovation and startups in strengthening national security.
The second session will focus on the rise of misinformation in modern conflicts, examining the use of artificial intelligence and deepfakes in disinformation campaigns. Discussions will explore ethical concerns, the role of social media, and strategies for counteracting misinformation while emphasizing the need for cross-sector collaboration to safeguard the information environment.
The third session will delve into the strategic importance of space in defense, highlighting the growing threats and opportunities within this competitive and contested domain. Topics will include Space Situational Awareness (SSA), missile defense technologies, secure satellite communications, and the development of space forces and alliances.
IDC 2025 will feature high-level participation from leading global figures in defense, economics, and technology, including Dr. Yossi Sheffi, Director of the MIT Center for Transportation and Logistics, alongside senior military leaders. The event will culminate in a session dedicated to offering strategic recommendations to inform the future direction of global defense programs.
