The Embassy of India in Cairo held a prize distribution ceremony to honour the winners of the 29th edition of the “Glimpses of India” Painting Competition, organised in co-operation with Egypt’s Ministry of Education. The competition was held from 2 to 24 November 2025.

The ceremony was attended by India’s Minister of State for External Affairs, H.E. Kirti Vardhan Singh, as chief guest, along with Dr Rabab Abdel Mohsin, Art Education Advisor, and senior officials from Egypt’s Ministry of Education and Technical Education. The guests congratulated the young participants and praised their creativity and enthusiasm.

In his remarks, Singh commended the Egyptian children for their thoughtful and expressive artwork, noting their ability to reflect the cultural heritage, traditions, and shared civilisational values of India and Egypt.
More than 29,000 Egyptian students from 23 governorates took part in the competition. Their paintings highlighted the culture, art, and heritage of both countries, reflecting a growing appreciation of Indian culture and strong people-to-people ties.

The ceremony was held alongside the Bharat Milan Indian Community Cultural Festival and Kite Festival at Orabi Club in Obour City. The programme featured Sufi music by the Roohani Sisters from India, Kathak and Bollywood dance performances, and cultural presentations by members of the Indian community.
The event underscored the Indian Embassy’s ongoing efforts to promote cultural exchange and mutual understanding between India and Egypt, particularly among young people.
