RIYADH – US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan confirmed the Houthis continue rejecting calls for dialogue, ceasefires and de-escalation and respond instead with terrorist operations and military offensives.

The US official told Al Ekhbariya channel Saturday that the Houthi assaults on oil facilities in Saudi Arabia are terrorist acts, condemning attacks committed by Houthi militia against the kingdom.

“It is time to bring these offensives to a close, but that can only happen if the Houthis agree to cooperate with the United Nations and its envoy working on a step-by-step process to de-escalate the conflict,” he said.

“The United States stands fully behind those efforts, and we will continue to fully support our partners in the defense of their territory from Houthi attacks. We call on the international community to do the same,” according to him.
