BEIRUT- The Lebanese Hizbollah on Monday claimed attacks on Israeli troops and military positions in northern Israel, including a drone strike on a base and an assault on soldiers allegedly “infiltrating” near the Lebanese border, the Lebanese National News Agency (NNA) reported.
Hizbollah targeted Saint Jean, located north of the occupied city of Acre, about 16.5 kilometres from the Lebanese-Palestinian border. This base is a logistical facility under the Northern Command of the Israeli occupation forces.
In a related context, Hizbollah also targeted the Zarit barracks and the deployment of Israeli occupation soldiers around it with rocket-propelled weapons and artillery shells, resulting in partial destruction and fires.
Moreover, Hizbollah confronted a group of Israeli occupation soldiers who attempted to infiltrate the Ayta area.
In response, Israeli aircraft opened heavy machine gun fire towards areas adjacent to the Blue Line at the outskirts of the towns of Naqoura, Jabal al-Labouneh, and Jabal al-Alam in southern Lebanon.
Israeli reconnaissance and drone aircraft also intensified their flights over the villages of the western and central sectors, reaching the Litani River.
Furthermore, Israeli aircraft launched flares over the villages of the Tyre district and the coastal area.
