Hamas renewed Saturday its readiness to complete a “large” captive swap operation, which is based on a final ceasefire agreement, the withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces and the reconstruction of the war-ravaged Gaza Strip.
In a press statement conveyed by Al Qahera News Channel, the movement emphasized that “the guarantee of completing the upcoming exchange operations relies on the commitment of the occupation authorities to the terms of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza and the implementation of the humanitarian protocol.” It also highlighted that “the humanitarian situation in Gaza is catastrophic and requires pressure on the occupation authorities to implement the humanitarian protocol.”
Earlier today, Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, handed over two Israeli detainees to International Red Cross teams in the eastern part of Rafah, south Gaza, as part of the seventh batch of the first phase of the ceasefire and captive exchange agreement.
Later today, Qassam Brigades are expected to hand over four more Israeli detainees to the Red Cross at the Al-Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza.
