Dr. Ghada Wali, the Executive Director of the UN Office at Vienna and Director General of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), had talks with Kiribati President Taneti Maamau on means of boosting international efforts to fight corruption.
In statements on Tuesday, Wali said that they discussed with President Maamau the UN Convention on Transnational Organised Crime identified cybercrime, identity-related crimes and environmental crime.
Wali expressed the UNODC’s readiness to provide assistance to all world countries.
The 11th Session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organised Crime, currently in session in Vienna, will wrap up its activities on Friday, October 21.
