BERLIN – German Chancellor Olaf Scholz will start on Saturday a two-day foreign trip that will take him to Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar.
Government Spokesman Steffen Hebestreit said in statements on Monday that Scholz’s first stop will be in Saudi Arabia, where he will meet with Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
On Sunday, the chancellor will meet with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed and wrap up his tour in Qatar, where he will have talks with Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
Scholz’s talks will focus on intensifying cooperation in the fields of innovation, IT, energy and regional security issues, added Hebestreit.
