German Chancellor Olaf Scholz called for conducting a thorough investigation into the shelling of Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in the Gaza Strip, which killed and wounded hundreds of civilians in the coastal enclave.
He underscored the necessity of protecting the civilians and ensuring their safety.
Speaking at a joint press conference with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Wednesday, Scholz said he discussed with Sisi the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.
He added that Hamas movement launched “terrorist” attacks, which had its repercussions on citizens of Israel and Palestine.
The attacks can not be justified whatsoever, the chancellor said.
