CAIRO – Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty held a meeting with the Senate Committee on Foreign, Arab and African Affairs to outline Egypt’s foreign-policy framework.
He said Egypt’s approach is grounded in strategic balance as the region faces major political and security challenges.
Abdelatty reviewed the Foreign Ministry’s efforts to protect Egypt’s interests, maintain regional stability, and promote the economy through investment and trade partnerships.
The top diplomat also welcomed continued coordination with the Senate, stressing the important role of parliamentary diplomacy in strengthening ties with partner countries.
Abdelatty presented Egypt’s position on current regional developments, with a focus on the Palestinian issue.
He reaffirmed Cairo’s firm support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and outlined Egypt’s efforts over the past two years to stop the Gaza war and secure the flow of humanitarian aid.
The minister also briefed the committee on the situations in Lebanon, Syria, Libya, and Sudan, stressing Egypt’s commitment to the unity and sovereignty of Arab states and the need to support national institutions.
Additionally, Abdelatty reviewed the ministry’s work to support Egyptians abroad, including ongoing steps to digitise consular services, improve care for expatriates, and modernise authentication offices and electronic certification systems.
