CAIRO – Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration Badr Abdelatty had a meeting on Friday with Palestinian Premier and Foreign Minister Mohammad Mustafa to discuss Egypt’s efforts to maintain the Gaza ceasefire deal and ongoing negotiations to start the second stage of the deal.

The talks took place on the sidelines of their participation in the fourth edition of Antalya Diplomacy Forum, said Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Tamim Khallaf.

The two sides also discussed moves to back the Arab-Islamic plan for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, with the support of international actors.

They also discussed preparations for a conference on Gaza reconstruction, hosted by Egypt, in cooperation with the Palestinian government and the United Nations.

They also mulled the latest developments in the West Bank in light of the repeated military incursions into the West Bank’s cities and refugee camps.

For his part, Abdelatty reiterated Egypt’s categorical rejection of the forced displacement of the Palestinian people from their land and commitment to preserving the inalienable rights of the Palestinians.

He also stressed the necessity of working to create the necessary political horizon for establishing an independent Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with Al Quds (occupied East Jerusalem) as its capital.
