BEIRUT – Director of Legal Affairs at the Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor Mohammad Moghabat asserted that the humanitarian situation in Gaza Strip after 261 days of the Israeli war on the enclave was devastating.
Interviewed by “Al Kahera Al-Ikhbariya” TV, Moghabat said the victims of terrorism and mass killing have reached around 45,000, including 10,000 who are still trapped under the rubble, along with many others who are still missing.
As per the educational and academic sector, there is an all-out damage in the sector including schools and universities, noting that at least three universities are totally damaged, while others are partially destroyed, he added.
As per the health sector, all the 26 hospitals of Gaza are totally damaged or are operating with limited capacities, he explained.
Moghabat also highlighted the spread of famine among Gazans due to lack of food supplies and the impeding of humanitarian and relief materials, slamming at the silence of the international community towards the Israeli breaches and atrocities against the Palestinian people.
He also held the Israeli side responsible for all the deterioration in Gaza and underestimated the importance of condemnation to the Israeli attacks in view of the continuation of extending military assistance to the occupation force and the ongoing offensive on the Strip.
