The 57th anniversary of Indian Technical & Economic Cooperation (ITEC) programme will be celebrated by the Embassy of India in Cairo on Thursday.
During the event, Alumni who had attended ITEC, IAFS, CV Raman Scholarships and other training programmes in India from Egypt, will participate and share experiences of their training in India.
ITEC is a flagship cooperation programme of Government of India for extending technical assistance and enhancing capacity building of its developing country partners. In the last few years, more than 1,000 Egyptians have participated in these demand-driven and response-oriented training programmes. Under the ITEC programme, 200 slots are available every year for Egyptian nationals to undertake training in 54 Institutes of India offering courses in 280 disciplines which include Information Technology, public administration, audit, elections, entrepreneurship, rural development, parliamentary affairs, renewable energy, English language, banking, skill development and employment generation. Special training in fields like security, defense, counter insurgency etc., for defense personnel are offered by prestigious institutes in India like National Defense College and Defense Service Staff College.
‘TEC Day’ serves as a platform to bring together Egyptian friends to reminisce and share their learning experiences in India and to further strengthen the close bonds of friendship between the people of India and Egypt.
