CAIRO – Egypt’s Grand Mufti, President of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide, Shawki Allam, said Dar Al Ifta is willing to offer all forms of support for Indian scholars, including training services.
Allam made his remarks on Friday at a meeting with India’s Mufti Abubakr Ahmad Musliyar on the sidelines of his visit to India at an official invitation from president of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations Vinay Sahasrabuddhe.
The Grand Mufti underlined the importance of great roles played by the Indian Mufti and scholars to show the real image of Islam.
On Sunday, Allam headed to India on a five-day visit, where he met with senior officials and religious figures, and visited a number of Islamic universities and religious sites.
Ibrahim Negm, the Mufti advisor, underlined the importance of Allam’s visit for building bridges of peace and discussing intellectual, religious and cultural issues.
