Egypt strongly condemned the Israeli bombardment of Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in the Gaza Strip, leaving hundreds of Palestinians dead and injured.
In a statement released by the Foreign Ministry on Tuesday, Egypt said the deliberate bombing of civilian facilities and targets represents a serious violation of the provisions of international humanitarian law and the most basic human values, calling on Israel to immediately stop its policy of collective punishment against the residents of the Gaza Strip.
Egypt calls for all countries of the world, particularly major countries, to intervene to halt these violations and unequivocally deplore them, the statement noted.
Egypt also appeals to the world’s great powers to press Israel to stop targeting the vicinity of the Rafah border crossing to enable it and any other countries, as well as international relief organizations to deliver humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip as soon as possible, the statement read.
