CAIRO – The General Authority of the National Library and Archives participated in the celebration of Arab Document Day 2025, which was organized by the Arab League’s general secretariat in Cairo.
The event, held under the title “The Arab League: Eighty Years of Joint Arab Action,” also witnessed the participation of a host of prominent Arab figures in the fields of archives and documentation.
Such steps come within the framework of the Egyptian Ministry of Culture’s keenness to support efforts aimed at preserving the Arab documentary heritage and enhancing cooperation among archival institutions in the region.
The Ministry of Culture said in a statement on Friday that the celebration included the opening of a documentary exhibition titled “The Arab League in the Eyes of Arab Archival and Documentation Institutions.”
During the inspection of the event by Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmed Abul Gheit, Head of the General Authority of the National Library and Archives Osama Talaat highlighted the participation of the Egyptian pavilion, which includes rare documents that chronicle the journey of joint Arab action and the role of the Arab League in supporting the nation’s causes.
