Egypt has vehemently condemned the Israeli occupation’s recent assaults on Nuseirat Refugee Camp in central Gaza, which left over 150 Palestinian civilians dead and hundreds injured.
These attacks are blatant violation of the provisions of international law, the International Humanitarian Law (IHL), and all human rights and values, the foreign ministry said in a statement on Saturday.
Egypt holds the Israeli occupation authorities legally and morally responsible for such an outrageous assault, read the statement.
Egypt called on Israel to adhere to its legal obligations as an occupying power to stop indiscriminate attacks on innocent population and civilian infrastructure in the Palestinian enclave.
Egypt also urged international parties and the UN Security Council to immediately intervene to stop Israel’s war on Gaza and put an end to the humanitarian crisis that had claimed the lives of over 36,000 persons, the statement said.
Egypt has also stressed the urgent need for reaching a full and complete ceasefire, and ensuring the entry of humanitarian and relief aid through all crossings to Gaza.
