RAMALLAH- Dozens of Israeli settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque Monday under the protection of the Israeli police in light of a petition submitted by the “Temple Organisations” to the Israeli Supreme Court to allow settlers to “blow the trumpets (shofar)” during the “Hebrew New Year” (Rosh HaShanah) holiday later this month.
The Department of Islamic Endowments in Jerusalem stated in a press statement that dozens of settlers stormed Al-Aqsa from the Magharba Gate, in successive groups, and carried out provocative tours, performed Talmudic rituals and listened to explanations about the alleged “Temple”.
The “Temple Organisations” petitioned the Israeli Supreme Court to allow settlers to “blow the trumpet” at Al-Aqsa Mosque, on the “Hebrew New Year” holiday, which falls on Monday and Tuesday, September 26 and 27.
