CAIRO – British Special Envoy to Sudan and South Sudan Robert Fairweather described his meetings in Egypt as ”fruitful”.

Egypt and Britain share a common goal, which is attaining stability and security in Sudan, he said.

He further drew attention to the crucial role played by Egypt in hosting the Sudanese people, who fled their country due to the increased intensity of the conflict there.

During his visit to Egypt, Fairweather met with a host of Egyptian and regional officials, as well as representatives of humanitarian organizations to discuss the situation in Sudan, according to a statement issued by the British Embassy in Cairo.
