MANAMA – Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has accompanied Al-Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed el Tayyeb and Pope Francis of the Vatican to plant a palm tree at Sakhir Palace, south of Manama.
The move comes to draw the world’s attention to the climate change crisis and environmental issues.

Al-Azhar imam and the Pope of the Vatican are currently on a visit to Bahrain to take part in the “Bahrain Forum for Dialogue: East and West for Human Coexistence”.
Held on Thursday and Friday, the forum is organized under the auspices of the Bahraini monarch.
The event is attended by many eminent intellectual figures and representatives of religions from different countries.
