Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri, USA – In a significant show of strategic projection, American B-2 Spirit stealth bombers have reportedly departed from Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri, en route to a strategic base in Guam, located in the western Pacific. This movement was reported by Israeli public broadcaster KAN on Saturday.
The B-2 bombers are said to be accompanied by four Boeing KC-46 Pegasus refueling aircraft. Reports indicate that two of these tankers have already conducted refueling operations for the B-2s over the Pacific Ocean, with the other two positioned approximately 75 kilometers behind them. Additionally, two more refueling aircraft have reportedly taken off from north of San Francisco and are heading north, with their next scheduled refueling stop in Hawaii.
The B-2 Spirit stealth bomber is a cornerstone of America’s advanced strategic weaponry. Renowned for its ability to penetrate sophisticated air defenses, it can deliver precision strikes against hardened targets, such as deeply buried nuclear research facilities. Each B-2 aircraft is valued at approximately $2.1 billion, making it the most expensive military aircraft ever built.
This deployment comes amidst heightened regional tensions. On Wednesday, U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth stated that the U.S. military is prepared to execute any decision President Donald Trump may make regarding Iran. Hegseth emphasized that Tehran should have heeded the president’s calls for a deal on its nuclear program prior to the commencement of Israel’s strikes on Friday.
