CAIRO – The Council of Arab Social Affairs Ministers approved a financial aid worth $100,000 to ease the humanitarian and social impact of the armed conflict in Sudan.

At the end of an emergency meeting held via videoconference, the council decided to take the necessary measures to buy the requirements of social and humanitarian support within the limit of the set amount of money and work on delivering the aid supplies to those in need through coordination with the Egyptian Red Crescent, the Sudanese Red Crescent and the International Committee of the Red Cross in addition to other Arab and international bodies concerned.

The council decided to support the joint efforts of the Arab League and Sudanese authorities to alleviate the suffering of the Sudanese people.

The council urged member states to present all kinds of humanitarian and social support to the injured, the displaced and all others harmed by the fighting in Sudan.
