Arab Parliament welcomes UN designation of Houthis as ‘terrorist group’

The Arab Parliament welcomed on Tuesday the United Nations Security Council’s decision to designate the Houthi militia in Yemen as a terrorist group and its call for expansion of an arms embargo on it.

Describing the decision as a victory for legitimacy, the Arab Parliament said – in a statement Tuesday – that this decision came after the escalation of Houthi’s attacks against Saudi Arabia and the UAE along with their attacks against airports and ports.

The decision was issued after tireless efforts exerted by Saudi Arabia and the UAE to put an end to violations of Houthi terrorist group, added the statement.

The Arab Parliament supports all efforts exerted, which aim to maintain peace and stability, it added.
