CAIRO – The Arab Parliament hailed a UN General Assembly resolution demanding an “immediate humanitarian ceasefire” and a stop to the genocide carried out by Israel in the Gaza Strip.
The resolution was passed with a large majority of 153 in favor and 10 against, with 23 abstentions.
The United States and Israel were among the 10 countries that voted against it.
The Arab Parliament asserted in a statement late Thursday that the 153 who voted in favor of the resolution reflect the world’s rejection of the war crimes committed against women and children and the displacement of the Palestinian people.
The Arab Parliament called on the international community to force Israel to stop the flagrant aggression against the Palestinians.
