CAIRO – Assistant Secretary General and Head of the International Political Affairs Sector at the Arab League Khaled Manzalawi participated in the Summit-level Meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Contact Group in the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku.
The meeting brings together 70 heads of state and government, as well as senior officials from different countries and heads of international organizations.
In a statement, the AL said according to MENA that Manzalawi’s participation in the Baku-hosted summit reflected the great importance attached by the Arab League to multilateral action and international solidarity.
The summit discusses global issues of concern to NAM member states, the statement further noted.
With a unanimous decision of NAM countries, in 2019, Azerbaijan assumed the chairmanship of NAM for the period of 2019-2022. Its chairmanship was also extended by a unanimous decision for one more year.
