CAIRO – Arab Parliament (AP) Speaker Adel al Assoumi condemned the methodical violations of the Israeli forces against the Palestinians via the administrative detentions since the incidents of Sheikh Jarrah and scooping lands in Negev.

This came in messages to the UN secretary general, president of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, heads of the regional parliaments and UN high commissioner for human rights.

Assoumi urged the international community to oblige the Israeli forces to respect and apply the international law and stop the administrative detentions police and put an end to the suffering of the administrative detainees and immediately release them.

Assoumi said that the administrative detention orders reached 1,600 in 2021 out of a total of 8,000 Palestinians detained by the Israelis.

Assoumi said that the AP condemns and rejects these measures, adding that they represent blatant violations of the international laws and the UN resolutions.
